Compensation: $1,100–$1,900 per week, based on completed moves (pay-per-move)
City Haul is seeking dependable CDL-A Intermodal Drivers to transport freight between ports, rail yards, warehouses, and customer locations. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, reliable, and comfortable handling intermodal containers while following all applicable transportation regulations.
Haul intermodal containers on assigned local and regional routes.
Pick up and deliver freight at ports, rail terminals, warehouses, and customer facilities.
Properly position, secure, and inspect containers mounted on chassis.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service rules, and company safety procedures.
Operate electronic logging devices (ELDs) and mobile dispatch applications to receive assignments and track trips.
Maintain accurate transportation records, including bills of lading, proof of delivery, inspection photos, and other required documentation.
Follow applicable handling and safety procedures for hazardous materials and refrigerated containers when assigned.
Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and facility personnel.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A).
Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
Two or more years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
Previous intermodal, drayage, port, or regional trucking experience preferred.
Familiarity with container chassis operations is an advantage.
Experience using ELDs and mobile dispatch systems preferred.
Strong commitment to safe driving, dependability, and professional communication.
Must meet applicable DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements.
Ability to work scheduled shifts of up to 14 hours, subject to applicable Hours of Service regulations.
